The Mara/Serengeti Reserves form the northern section of a vast ecosystem which incorporates Tanzania’s famous Serengeti Reserve and Kenya’s Masai Mara which combined covers an area of 25,000 km2. This famous area is known for the great wildebeest migration which starts around July through to September each year crossing the Mara and Talek rivers. The confluence of game at
this time of the year is quite extraordinary with crocodiles; lions, cheetah and leopard being the main predators. During other months of the year, this special ecosystem continues to enthrall visitors with a wide variety of wildlife; flora and fauna. A number of community based eco projects have been established to ensure the local population benefits from this national heritage. In and around the Mara Reserve are a number of high quality lodges and tented camps. Presently the best way to visit the Mara is by air and daily flights from Nairobi or other destinations can be arranged.

Note: This is a very popular venue during the migration season and bookings are made a year in advance!
